It’s 7am, and since I arrived so late (about 1:15 am), the car is not fully charged yet. The trick is to arrive at a place to stay and charge early enough in the day to make sure the car has it’s 260 something miles on it when you start the day, otherwise you are spending the rest of the day having to spend waking time waiting for charging. That is best done while you sleep. I’ll hang out here for maybe another hour, then off to Springfield, MO and up to St Louis by a reasonable end of the day I hope…
So much for plans. I called the ONE hotel that has a charger, and they are fully booked. So much for a night in a hotel.. I’ll see if I can work that out for somewhere soon. So, I’m in Stanton/Meramec, MO, about an hour out of St. Louis at 4 in the afternoon. The car is charging at 40Amps. 29 mi/hr which is about as good as I get from a 50Amp plug. A couple hours here will get me to the other side of St. Louis to a place called Mulberry Grove, IL. I can stop there and charge for an hour or two and get to my original destination, the Casey, IL KOA (just 109 miles from Indianapolis). Starting with a full charge sure makes a difference !! I feel like I can move further with fewer hours of charging during the day. We’ll see. This is one big numbers game.
Charging in Stanton/Meramec, MO. It is HOT and humid here !
There were fireflies at this RV park !! something I don’t normally see. I wonder where they get charged ??
