Day 7

On a personal note, waking up in a real bed with real sheets and too many pillows, and a bathroom AND shower with shampoo and soap is a real pleasure !!  The cost of all of this with a slightly slower charge (it’s charging at 19 miles per hour right now) is about the same as a charging site and a Kamping Kabin at KOA.  What a world of difference.

I wake up this morning to 193 miles on the car, and after a shower it’s 202.  I may just take my time here and let it charge up a little more to get me to Northampton withs some miles in my battery.  It’s almost 200 miles from Northampton to Biddeford Pool.  What I hope is the last day of this adventure begins with free breakfast in the lobby !  I’m up into the 220’s now on the car.  It’s 10;15, time to head for Northampton and then foggy BIDDEFORD POOL MAINE !

I made it to 91 North to Northampton/ Westhampton, etc, and followed my Google navigation which failed me here.  I ended up a couple of miles from the KOA, so I lost a little time and a little charge..  I am now parked at the KOA, charging at 36Amps.  The whole place was waiting for me and wanted to hear all about the car, see it, and one woman who really wants one sat in it..  I think she just melted when she sat down..  I wonder what kind of commission Tesla will give me for all the cars I’m selling..

“Six days on the road and I’m gonna make it home tonight.”

I charged at Northampton for a few hours.  I wanted to make sure I had enough for the 200 miles trip to Biddeford Pool, ME.  By almost 6pm I had 237 miles showing and decided it was time to leave.  I drove between 61 and 63 mph and by 9pm I was going through the first Maine tolls with my E-ZPass.  By 9;45 I was in Biddeford Pool with 67 miles left showing on the dash.   What an adventure !!

This car is just plain awesome !  Fun to drive !  When the Superchargers are in and you can make this kind of trip with 45 minute charging stops, you will want to drive everywhere in this car.
