I woke up a little before 6 am and checked my app. Whew. It had charged all night. I was in good shape. I slept for a short time more, got up and got a coffee and orange juice at the office. 39 degrees ! I left at 8:30 am with 264 showing !!
Full charge sure is nice ! Next stop the Tesla Service Center in Dublin, OH (Columbus) where I had stopped on my way out. They greeted me like an old friend, plugged in the car, set me up in their office with a chair and table and wifi, offered me drink, and even offered to include me in their lunch order ! They have a loaner car I can use, so now that i’m up to date on the blog, I’m going to take their bright red S and go to Whole Foods and find a restaurant with a huge salad for lunch.
I took the red Tesla to Whole Foods and had a big salad for lunch, bought a few supplies, went next door to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought a pillow to go with my sleeping bag in the Kamping Kabins.
Dave Huff and the crew at the service center couldn’t have been nicer. They let me take out a roadster that was there. You need a shoe horn to get into that car. It uses a key (how retro !) and push buttons, and it makes a racket ! The car creaks, there is no power steering so you have to turn hard on the little steering wheel to get it to turn. I guess it’s faster than my S, but it sure doesn’t have the drive or the smooth acceleration that mine has. Fun to drive, but give me an S any day !! Thanks for the opportunity to try it out !!
I left Dayton (Columbus) at 6pm with 244 miles showing. I arrived at a sports bar right near the KOA in Richmond, IN at 8:13 with 129 miles showing. I arrived at the Richmond, IN KOA and started charging at around 9:30pm. I was on a cabin looking out at a lake with the full moon overhead. Gorgeous. I probably spend an hour photographing. then off to bed with my new pillow !
