Day 6 • Lone Tree, CO to Albuquerque, NM

What a day.  I got up at 6, had a quick breakfast and hit the road.  IMG_5445

IMG_5447There is no place to charge between Denver and Albuquerque except for a couple of KOA campgrounds..  So I drove for almost 3 hours to the KOA in Raton, NM.  Not much to say here except that the guy who runs the campground had just installed a new service and put in a space just for cars.  He promised me I could charge at the full 40 amps and not have to dial it down.  I plugged in and it went right to 24 mph charging. IMG_5471 I needed about 200 more miles to get to Albuquerque.  You do the math..  After a while it did go up to 28 mph charging and it stayed that way all  day  long !   I updated the blog, I went for walks, I took a nap, I went to the market and bought some applesauce for a stomach that wasn’t quite right..  After spending the day there, at about 5:30 I was ready to drive.  Oh how I miss the superchargers !

IMG_5491Three and a half hours later I finally arrived home.  An uneventful and very long day.  I’m exhausted and glad to be home.

This trip was five and a half days.  Shorter than the all Supercharger route, but that last leg and slow charging was not fun.  Waiting for Tesla to put in more Superchargers so we can all drive anywhere in an electric car !  It’s a pleasure to drive and a great road car..

See you on the road !
